Testimonial - 57 Year Old Man
<< Back To Testimonials
A year ago I weighed more than 400 lbs and wore a size 72. pants. I
took 17 pills a day to manage my high blood pressure, pain from too
much weight on my knees, and three ruptured discs in my spine, sleep
apnea and a variety of other illnesses. I tried every diet possible
but I couldn’t lose weight and keep it off. I began to rely on a
wheelchair to get around because my legs couldn’t hold my girth. I was
on oxygen because breathing was so difficult.
My family doctor told me that if I didn’t do something to lose
significant weight, I would probably lose my life. He recommended I
see Dr. David Engstrand of the Bariatric Institute of Wisconsin. My
case was difficult because I had so many health problems, but the
staff at Bariatric Institute of Wisconsin pulled me through.
Today, I weigh 190 lbs, wear a 28. pant and don’t take any pills. I
still enjoy food and have energy to spare. I would do it again without
hesitation!
As I entered the operating room I was greeted by Drs. Engstrand,
Burhop and Chiang. Each was there to give me support and their
exceptional surgical skills. I went to sleep with peace know I was in
good hands. The staff at Elmbrook Memorial Hospital were equally
caring and supportive. I knew I had made the right choice and was on
the road to a full recovery and complete lifestyle. I will do anything
I can to help people making the decision for bariatric surgery. Don’t
wait, talk to your family doctor and then talk to my doctors at the
Bariatric Institute of Wisconsin.
